Privacy policy

Famvale (“we”, “us”) runs a shared family board for the screens in your home. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we use your family’s information to run your board, and for nothing else. We don’t show ads, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

• Account details: the email address and name you sign in with (by email code or Google).
• Household details you enter: your household name, the first names and colors of family members (including children, entered by a parent), pets, chores, routines, meals, groceries, and family events.
• Calendar data you connect: event titles, times, and the calendar label, read from the secret iCal links or Google calendars you choose. Access is read-only. Calendar links and Google tokens are encrypted at rest.
• Check-ins: optional household energy check-ins (a 1–5 score) used to suggest calmer schedules.
• Screens: the name and type of each display you pair, and when it was last seen, so we can show screen health.
• Billing: your subscription status and plan. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, never by Famvale.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) used for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

• To show your family board on your paired screens and phones.
• To send sign-in codes, invitations, and service emails.
• To process your subscription.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

Each household’s data is separated from every other household’s. People you share with through Family Circle see only the events you choose to share.

Google user data

If you connect a Google Calendar, Famvale requests read-only calendar access and uses it only to display your chosen calendars’ events on your family board. Famvale’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google data for advertising, and we do not let humans read it except with your permission, for security, or as required by law.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that run Famvale for us, under contracts that limit their use to providing their service: hosting (Vercel), database hosting, email delivery, and payments (Stripe). We may disclose information if the law requires it. If Famvale is ever acquired, this policy will continue to protect your data, and we will tell you before anything changes.

Children

Famvale accounts are for adults. Parents may add their children’s first names and tasks to the household board. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Edit or remove family members, calendars, and screens at any time in Household settings.
• Disconnect a calendar to stop all future reads of it.
• Email hello@famvale.com to export your data or to delete your household. We delete household data within 30 days of the request, except where we must keep billing records by law.

Security

We use encrypted connections, encrypt calendar secrets at rest, sign every session, and limit each request to its own household. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of a breach as the law requires.

Changes

If we make material changes, we will update this page and email the household owner before the changes take effect.
